Circular saw blade for use with CNC router?

I own a CNC router and I have been cutting some MDF into strips. I’m currently using a slitting saw blade which is OK but ideally I would want to use a standard circular saw blade because it will cut through the MDF easier.

The trouble is all these circular saw blades are normally advertised for use with either a table saw or a hand-held circular saw. Are these saw blades OK to use with a CNC Router?

Basically, what I have done is to bolt the spindle on my CNC router sideways and attached the saw blade using an arbor. Using a slitting saw works fine but I really want to use a circular saw blade instead.

I can’t see any reason why there should be a problem but for safety reasons I just thought i’d better check.

A router spins at 9000 RPM. A power saw 1750 RPM. The blade will fly apart and kill you if it lands just so. SAFETY FIRST idiot.

I operated one for a sign company. Have you looked in the sign industry? Websites like signweb.com OR signindustry.com.
A lot of signs are made with routed faces and then backed with plex and illuminated. Also, engraved plaques, avonite, cut dimensional letters in aluminum or plex.

TGI Machine Sales is a good place to start. Their web address is www.RouterCenter.com. They have a large inventory of used CNC Routers – in addition they retrofit older machines with new controllers.

i am using mdf board on cnc router mc. when temp. & humidity go up it start bend from the corner lift 20-35mm ?

suggest the good grade of mdf with more humidity resistance

You will have the same problem with any MDF. The bending is due to a difference in moisture content in one side of the board compared to the other. The side with the least moisture will shrink while the side with the more moisture will try to get longer.

To control the moisture content you will need to seal both sides when the board is flat. I don’t know if that is practical or not. Using a plastic such as plexiglass would be a better choice since it should not have a moisture problem.

Day 5 is all about CNC Control. CNC Control is made up of three parts. The CNC Control Computer, CNC Control Software and the actually CNC Controller.
The CNC Control Computer can be basic and inexpensive. The computer will live in a harsh environment that includes dust and dirt.
The CNC Control Software is what processes the G-Code program we made in the last step. You load it in and when you are ready, start the program.
The actual CNC Controller has drivers in it and translates the signals from the control program into motion. It sends the signals on to stepper or servo motors that move the various axis
All together these pieces can cost a lot or a little. You can also cut down the cost if you build the cnc controller yourself.

Tomorrow we machine. This is where the chips fly.
